Jawline tilt

A small push of the head forward and down. Defines the jaw without looking like a passport photo.

  • profile photos

Steps

  1. Stand or sit tall; roll the shoulders back and down.

  2. Push the head forward a centimeter, as if leading with the forehead.

  3. Lower the chin slightly until the jaw separates from the neck.

  4. Keep the eyes on the lens; don’t lift the brows.

Pro tips

  • Think “turtle, then relax” — the move is small.
  • Stubble or a clean shave both work; messy mid-growth photographs patchy.

Common mistakes

  • Jutting the chin up, which creates a double chin from most phone cameras.
  • Clenching the jaw so the neck tendons pop.

Lighting

A key light slightly above and 30–45° to the side sculpts the jaw. Fill the shadow side so it doesn’t look hollow.
